FORMER HILLARY CLINTON STAFFER CLAIMS SHE WAS ATTACKED DURING 2016 CAMPAIGN FOR BEING MUSLIM
During the 2016 presidential election campaign, some U.S. politicians made Muslims the “bogeyman,” says a former Hillary Clinton staffer.
Huma Abedin, Clinton’s chief of staff, said she endured calls for her investigation by a Republican Congressman in 2012, because she and her family were practicing Muslims.
The prejudice intensified throughout the election campaign of former President Donald Trump, she told Arab News.
That experience was “really an appetizer for what was to come,” Abedin said.
Abedin recently published a memoir about her experiences in U.S. politics and growing up in Saudi Arabia.
She writes about anti-Muslim prejudice in politics in her book “Both/And: A Life in Many Worlds.”
