BRITISH JEWISH LEADER RESIGNS FOLLOWING COMMENTS ABOUT MUSLIMS
A British Jewish leader has resigned following comments he made about Muslims.
Gary Mond, vice president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews and treasurer of the U.K. branch of the Jewish National Fund, wrote on Facebook that “all civilization” is “at war with Islam.”
A senior member of British Jewry’s main communal organization, Mond resigned after being suspended over his hostile social media posts toward Muslims.
Mond’s other social media activity was unearthed by a news investigation.
His suspension followed a report Wednesday in The Jewish News of London about his social media interactions in recent years.
It found that Mond had “liked” on Facebook two posts by Pamela Geller, a Jewish-American anti-Islam activist.
