Jordanian government installs ACs, solar energy systems in schools
AMMAN, Jordan (MNTV) – The Jordanian government has recently decided to install air conditioning and solar energy systems in schools across the Al-Wasta District ahead of summers.
The initiative aligns with its ongoing commitment to improving educational environments and ensuring optimal conditions for students, reported Jordan’s Alghad daily.
The decision, made during the government’s latest session, aims to expand the coverage of these systems to all schools in the district, ensuring a comfortable and sustainable learning environment.
Mahmoud Al-Hayasat, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, stated that 17 schools in the Al-Wasta District currently utilize air conditioning and solar energy systems.
The government has now approved the inclusion of five additional schools: Saidour Elementary School for Girls, Kafr Asad Secondary School for Boys, Kafr Asad Comprehensive School for Girls, Kafr Asad Elementary School for Boys, and Qom Al-Jadida School.
This expansion will ensure that all schools in the district are equipped with these essential services, significantly enhancing the quality of the educational environment.
Al-Hayasat emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s and the Ministry of Education’s dedication to sustainability and the efficient use of resources.
By integrating renewable energy systems, the project not only reduces operational costs but also fosters environmental awareness among students.
“The use of solar energy and air conditioning systems contributes to creating a comfortable classroom environment, which helps students focus and achieve better academic outcomes,” Al-Hayasat explained.
The project is part of the Ministry of Education’s broader strategy to modernize school infrastructure and promote sustainable practices.
By adopting renewable energy solutions, the ministry aims to reduce its carbon footprint while providing students with a conducive learning environment.
The initiative also serves as an educational tool, raising students’ awareness of the importance of sustainability and environmental conservation.
This dual focus on infrastructure development and environmental education underscores the government’s commitment to fostering a generation that values and practices sustainable living.
The installation of air conditioning systems is expected to create a more comfortable and focused learning environment, particularly during extreme weather conditions.
This improvement is anticipated to positively impact students’ academic performance and overall well-being.
The Ministry of Education reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such initiatives across the country, ensuring that all students have access to safe, comfortable, and sustainable educational facilities.
By prioritizing infrastructure development and renewable energy, the government and the Ministry of Education are taking significant steps toward enhancing the quality of education and promoting a sustainable future for Jordan.
