Turkmenistan hosts first international fashion show in Ashgabat
ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan (MNTV) —For the first time, Turkmenistan’s capital, Ashgabat, is hosting an international fashion show, bringing together leading Turkmen designers and renowned couturiers from around the world.
The event is part of the “Investing in the Future of Turkmenistan” exhibition and forum, which began on March 17 and runs until March 19, marking the 17th anniversary of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
According to state news agency TDH, the fashion show is showcasing collections that blend Turkmenistan’s rich embroidery traditions with contemporary design trends.
Among the local participants are designers from the Fashion House of the Ministry of Textile Industry, alongside brands such as Mähirli Zenan, Jennet Tagty, Mynasyp, Nagyşly Güzer, Gölli, Aina Sari, and Aýperi.
The international lineup includes designers from Italy, France, Morocco, and Oman, reflecting Ashgabat’s growing influence in the fashion world.
The city, recognized in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network under the “Design” category, is positioning itself as a hub for artistic innovation.
Beyond the runway, foreign guests are exploring Ashgabat’s landmarks, experiencing its cultural and architectural heritage.
