Muslim sisters assaulted in Connecticut school
Two 14-year-old Muslim twin sisters were allegedly attacked by fellow students at Michael Wallace Middle School in Waterbury, Connecticut, last Monday.
The assault left the two girls hospitalized.
Their parents claim the school has not provided clear communication on disciplinary actions or safety measures.
The Connecticut chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has condemned the attack, calling it a hate crime targeting the girls’ Arab heritage and Islamic faith.
CAIR is demanding a full investigation and strict action under state anti-bullying laws.
CAIR has also urged Waterbury Public Schools to protect the victims, hold the attackers accountable, and improve anti-bullying policies.
Chair of CAIR-Connecticut Farhan Memon says the group is seeking an urgent meeting with school officials and safety personnel.
