Iran and Türkiye discuss expanding cultural and library collaboration

TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — Türkiye’s Ambassador to Iran met with the Head of Iran’s Parliament Library to explore ways to enhance cultural and library cooperation between the two nations.
Key proposals included the exchange of books, restoration of manuscripts, digitization of historical works, and organizing joint training programs, according to Tehran Times.
Ambassador Hicabi Kırlangıç and Head Librarian Masoud Moienipour held discussions at the Majlis Library, aiming to identify areas of mutual interest and deepen cultural ties.
As a gesture of goodwill, Moienipour presented the ambassador with a collection of books and materials related to Türkiye, highlighting the shared cultural heritage between the two countries.
Moienipour emphasized the importance of cultural cooperation, advocating for increased academic and library partnerships.
He proposed organizing joint exhibitions, exchanging historical documents, and collaborating on manuscript restoration as part of a potential joint cultural year between Iran and Türkiye.
Additionally, he stressed the value of joint research initiatives in Iranian and Ottoman studies, expressing enthusiasm for expanding scientific and cultural exchanges.
The meeting concluded with Ambassador Kırlangıç touring the library’s facilities, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to strengthening cultural ties and collaborative efforts.
