Israeli raids continue in West Bank
GAZA/WEST BANK, Occupied Palestine (MNTV) – Israeli forces have intensified their deadly raids across the occupied West Bank, while continuing to violate cease-fire agreements in Gaza and Lebanon.
The latest attacks have resulted in multiple Palestinian casualties, mass arrests, and increasing destruction of homes and infrastructure.
The West Bank city of Tulkarem has been at the centre of Israeli military aggression, with troops demolishing public and private properties, targeting infrastructure and carrying out explosions targeting homes.
On Friday at dawn, Israeli forces detained five young men after besieging two houses, accompanied by heavy gunfire and low-flying reconnaissance drones.
In Jenin, Israeli forces shot and killed two Palestinians, just a day after an Israeli airstrike on Tammun claimed the lives of 10 people, including 17-year-old Jihad Nasser Yousef Bani Matar.
The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that Israeli troops confiscated the bodies of the two victims killed in Jenin.
At least 66 Palestinians have been injured in various Israeli attacks across the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society confirms that its teams in Jenin treated three women injured by Israeli shelling in the refugee camp. The Palestinian Civil Affairs Authority, responsible for liaising with Israel, verified the deaths of two unidentified Palestinians in Jenin.
In occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli police arrested 12 Palestinians who were celebrating the release of 110 Palestinian prisoners as part of the ongoing Gaza ceasefire deal. Human rights groups have condemned the crackdown as a blatant violation of Palestinian civil liberties.
Despite the cease-fire, Israeli gunboats shot and killed a Palestinian fisherman in Gaza’s coastal waters, near the Nuseirat refugee camp.
Palestinian fishermen have been repeatedly targeted in recent weeks, with Israeli naval forces firing at them despite the ongoing truce.
This latest killing raises further concerns about Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
In Lebanon, Israel committed 15 new cease-fire violations on Thursday, bringing the total breaches since the truce began 66 days ago to 823.
Israeli air and ground forces have regularly violated Lebanese airspace and territory despite the cease-fire deal.
In Israel, families of prisoners held in Gaza have publicly accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sabotaging the cease-fire deal. Yehuda Cohen, whose son Nimrod, an Israeli soldier, was captured on October 7, criticized the government’s handling of the crisis. Speaking to +972 Magazine, Cohen stated that Israel was not only committing war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza but also “committing crimes against its own soldiers.”
The Israeli military’s long assault on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in a staggering death toll of at least 47,460 Palestinians, with 111,580 others wounded, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
As Israeli forces continue deadly raids in the West Bank, alongside cease-fire violations in Gaza and Lebanon, the humanitarian crisis deepens, leaving Palestinian civilians caught in relentless cycles of violence and destruction.
