Intense Israeli attacks pound Gaza for 3rd day as ceasefire talks near conclusion

Intense Israeli attacks continued on Gaza for the third day, targeting homes and a school sheltering displaced people.
At least 62 Palestinians were killed in the past 24 hours, medical sources confirmed.
Al Jazeera Arabic reports that at least 38 Palestinians have been killed since dawn on Wednesday.
These strikes came coinciding reports that a breakthrough has been achieved regarding ceasefire negotiations in Doha.
A child and a baby were killed, in attacks on the tent sheltering displaced Palestinians in Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Drone strikes and bombings have surged, particularly in Gaza City and central areas.
Atleast 26 people were reported killed in the central and southern regions of the besieged territory.
A strike on a Shahin family home in Deir al-Balah killed 13, while seven were killed in a Nuseirat refugee camp strike.
Another attack on a Bureij camp claimed five lives.
A Gaza City school, turned into a shelter, was bombed, killing seven.
In Rafah, a strike on the Sha’ath family home killed a woman and four children.
Two more died in a drone strike in Khirbet Al-Adas.
Power outages were reported at the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza due to shelling, Al Jazeera Arabic reported.
An Israeli strike on a home in Jenin in the occupied West Bank has killed six and left others wounded.
The victims of the air strike on Tuesday night have been identified as Mahmoud Ashraf Mustafa Gharbiyeh, 15, Mo’men Ibrahim Abu al-Hayja, 28, Amir Ibrahim Mahmoud Abu al-Hayja, 27, Hussam Hassan Qanouh, 34, Ibrahim Mustafa Qaneiry, 23 and Bahaa Ibrahim Abu al-Hayja, 33.
Others wounded during the strike are reportedly in stable condition.
Eyewitnesses reported that an Israeli drone fired three missiles near al-Awda roundabout in the Jenin refugee camp, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.
A statement by the Israeli army confirmed that “an Air Force aircraft attacked a short time ago in the Jenin area” in a joint operation with the Shin Bet intelligence agency.
The Media Committee in Jenin Camp has held the Palestinian Authority accountable for the deadly Israeli attack on the camp overnight, which killed three Palestinians.
In a statement, the committee said: “We hold the authority fully responsible for the Israeli massacre in Jenin camp. The authority’s siege of the camp made it easier for the occupation forces to carry out the assassination and kill our people.”
The Israeli army reportedly expressed satisfaction with recent operations conducted by PA forces in the Jenin refugee camp, according to the Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA).
Over the past month, operations under Israeli military oversight have involved approximately 300 armed PA personnel.
Israel’s Central Command has recommended strengthening the PA’s security apparatus and increasing collaboration.
Following this advice, the Israeli security cabinet instructed the army to bolster its collaboration with PA forces.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed at least 46,707 Palestinians and wounded 110,265 since October 7, 2023.
In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its deadly war on Gaza.
