Israeli forces damage civilian sites in 4 towns of Syria’s Quneitra
Israeli army tanks damaged civilian sites in four towns in the Quneitra province of Syria on Wednesday.
Early in the morning, Israeli tanks entered the towns of al-Asha, al-Hiran, Abu Gara, and Mazraat al-Hiran of the Golan Heights region.
They withdrew from the area after damaging agricultural lands, electricity poles, roads, and uprooting roadside trees.
The collapse of the six-decades-old Baathist regime in Syria on Dec. 8 coincided with an escalation of Israeli military attacks on the country.
The Israeli army began destroying Syrian military infrastructure and facilities left by the regime’s army and expanded its occupation of the country’s Golan Heights.
Israeli forces also entered the buffer zone around the Golan Heights, carrying the occupation further and penetrated as far as over 15 miles from the capital Damascus.
