Hamas fighter kills 2 Israeli troops before blowing himself up near group of soldiers
ISTANBUL (AA) – A Hamas fighter reportedly killed two Israeli soldiers before blowing himself up near other troops in the northern Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the group’s military wing, the Qassam Brigades.
The statement said that the fighter killed an Israeli army sniper and his aide at “point-blank range” in the Jabalia refugee camp.
After killing the two, the fighter disguised in Israeli army uniform, managed to reach a group of six Israeli soldiers and blew himself up, killing and injuring them, the statement added.
The Israeli army has not yet commented on the attacks.
Israel has been conducting a large-scale ground offensive in northern Gaza since October 5, which Tel Aviv claims is to prevent the Palestinian resistance group Hamas from regrouping. Palestinians, however, accuse Israel of attempting to occupy the area and force its residents to flee.
Israel launched a genocidal war on Gaza that has killed more than 45,200 people, mostly women and children.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last month for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on Gaza.
