Siege by RSF leaves 350 dead in Sudan’s Al-Hilaliya Town
Sudanese activists report that the civilian death toll in the town of Al-Hilaliya which has been under siege by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has reached 350 since Oct. 20.
RSF attacks have left thousands without essential resources, with allegations of mass killings and severe human rights abuses.
Central Call, a local group, condemned the RSF’s actions, attributing many deaths to malnutrition, dehydration, and poisoning.
The group says victims are buried in mass graves.
International condemnation has grown, with the U.S. Special Envoy for Sudan denouncing reported poisoned food supplies.
The envoy called it a heinous act amid famine.
The conflict, which began in April 2023, has killed more than 20,000 people and displaced millions, with mounting pressure for an end to the violence.
