Empowering Muslim women: refugee support and domestic violence awareness through food catering
The Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation recently hosted a food-tasting event, showcasing their program to empower women in crisis.
“Food for Good” supports refugee and domestic violence survivor women through catering.
It was founded in 2017 to serve women who often face barriers such as language skills and transportation issues, making it difficult to find employment.
Today, the program is run under the umbrella of the foundation and has expanded its mission to include survivors of domestic violence.
The catering program provides participants with job training and opportunities to achieve financial independence.
The recent event offered attendees a variety of Mediterranean dishes and raised awareness about the initiative.
