Celebrating kindness: Muslim American philanthropy takes center stage
The Auburn Avenue Research Library in Georgia, Atlanta, hosted the launch of “Inspired Generosity: Muslim American Stories in Philanthropy” on Sept. 17.
This showcase features a diverse collection of videos, photos, poetry, digital art, and audio stories that highlight acts of kindness within the Muslim-American community.
Over the next three years, this traveling exhibition will emphasize the vital role of generosity in Muslim American life.
It aims to strengthen ties between institutional philanthropy and Muslim-led nonprofits.
Organized by the WF Fund and partners, the initiative aims to reshape perceptions of Muslim Americans.
Nearly 200 stories were submitted nationwide, with more than 50 showcased in Atlanta.
It included local initiatives like Sisters Nurturing Sisters, the Clara Mohammed Schools, and The Black Iftar, which fosters community during Ramadan.
