Biden stands firm with Israel following Iranian missile attack
President Joe Biden expressed unwavering support for Israel following an Iranian ballistic missile attack.
Speaking at the White House, he said, “Make no mistake, the United States is fully, fully, fully supportive of Israel.”
Biden noted that preliminary reports he had received indicated the attack was largely ineffective.
He credited the Israeli military’s capabilities and the collaborative efforts between the U.S. and Israel to prepare for such threats.
Iran launched about 200 ballistic missiles toward Israel.
Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed the attack was retaliation for the recent assassinations of key leaders in Lebanon.
Biden emphasized the ongoing communication between the U.S. and Israel, reaffirming America’s commitment to its ally in the face of aggression.
Israel has killed over 40,000 Palestinians and more than 1,000 Lebanese since it began its war on Gaza last October.
It has been accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice for its assault on Gaza.
