Muslim leaders call for boycott of Harris over supporting Israel
A coalition of prominent Muslim-American imams and scholars has issued a letter urging Muslim voters to reject Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election.
The group criticizes the Biden-Harris administration’s unwavering support for Israel amid ongoing assaults against Palestinians.
Various rights organizations are calling Israel’s attacks genocide against Palestinians.
Polls indicate a significant shift within the Muslim American community away from the Democratic Party due to this stance.
The letter, which was released Monday, emphasizes the need for Muslims to vote for third-party candidates, such as Jill Stein of the Green Party, rather than abstaining from voting.
It says, “We will not taint our hands by supporting an administration responsible for such bloodshed.”
It is encouraging a strong voter turnout for alternative candidates to express dissent against current policies.
