China asks citizens to leave Israel
ISTANBUL (AA) – China has asked its citizens to leave Israel amid heightening tensions over Tel Aviv’s war on Gaza and bombing of southern Lebanon.
A statement by the Chinese Embassy in Tel Aviv said the situation on the Israel-Lebanon border was “highly tense, military conflicts occur frequently, and the local security situation in Israel remains severe, complex and changeable.”
“Chinese citizens in Israel are requested to return to China or move to safe areas as soon as possible,” said the embassy in the statement.
It reminded Chinese citizens in Israel to “pay close attention to the development of the situation, be further vigilant, be prepared to prevent all kinds of attacks such as missiles, rockets, and drones, effectively strengthen security precautions, and never be complacent.”
“Those who really need to stay in Israel should pay attention to local safety tips in a timely manner, insist on not going out unless necessary, avoid going to high-risk areas and sensitive areas such as the north, keep in touch, and ensure safety,” it added.
