Jewish Voice for Peace calls Israeli attacks in Lebanon terrorist act
Non-Zionist group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) is calling recent attacks in Lebanon acts of terrorism that threaten to plunge the region into all-out war.
In a statement, the organization condemned the assaults as the actions of an Israeli rogue state which is fueled by a climate of total impunity.
JVP criticized mainstream media for framing the attacks as precision operations targeting Hezbollah, arguing instead that numerous civilians have suffered as a result.
The violence has included explosions during a funeral, which JVP says aims to instill fear in the Lebanese populace, and which the group notes is terrorism.
The organization is warning that these attacks could trigger wider conflict, with Israeli officials hinting at an invasion of southern Lebanon.
JVP is the world’s largest progressive Jewish anti-Zionist organization.
It has been mobilizing a grassroots movement in solidarity with the Palestinian freedom struggle.
JVP asserts that the US plays a pivotal role in this cycle of violence by providing military support to Israel.
This in turn profits US arms manufacturers.
JVP stresses that to prevent further bloodshed and regional conflict, the US must cease its arms supply to Israel.
