Teamsters will not endorse any presidential candidate
The Teamsters executive board says the union will not endorse a US presidential candidate in the November 5 election.
General President Sean O’Brien said neither major candidate was able to make serious commitments to the union to ensure the interests of working people.
He said the union “strongly” encourages all members to vote in the election and to remain engaged in the political process.
On Wednesday, data showed that a majority of members backed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump against Democratic contender, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.3 million working people in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
