Republican ads attempt to lure Muslim voters, highlighting Harris husband’s Jewish faith
In Michigan, a Republican-linked super PAC is running ads targeting Muslim voters.
They are highlighting Vice President Kamala Harris’ pro-Israel stance and her husband Doug Emhoff’s Jewish faith.
Future Coalition PAC, which funded the ads, has released six such ads since Sept. 5, focusing on Harris’ support for Israel and Emhoff’s faith.
The campaign appears designed to appeal to anti-Israel sentiments among Muslim and Arab-American voters in Detroit.
The ads celebrate Emhoff as the first Jewish presidential spouse, while showing images of him with Israeli symbols, subtly invoking antisemitic tropes.
The tone suggests admiration but seems to aim at sowing division.
