Jewish group with guns threatening Muslims at University of Texas
The Muslim Students’ Association is protesting a Jewish group bringing guns to the University of Texas Austin and threatening Muslims.
UT-Austin students held a press conference about a Jewish group claiming to protect Jewish students on campus.
The association says they have instead brought guns and are creating a dangerous atmosphere for Muslim, Palestinian, Arab students and their supporters.
UT-Austin has been ranked as the eighth worst school overall for freedom of expression on campus, landing at No. 244 on the list.
In collaboration with College Pulse, the Foundation of Individual Rights and Expression released its fifth annual 2025 College Free Speech Rankings study last week.
The analysis surveyed over 58,000 students from 257 colleges and universities, according to the study.
Much of the criticism around UT-Austin’s free speech policies stem from this year’s pro-Palestine and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion layoff protests that lasted for days starting April 24.
