Palestine supporters protest at Georgetown University
WASHINGTON (AA) – A group of Palestine supporters rallied through the campus of Georgetown University in the US capital on Wednesday.
During their demonstration, which began with the new semester, the student protestors chanted “If we don’t get no justice, then they don’t get no peace” and “Free, free Palestine.”
They called for their school’s divestment from Israel and an end to the Israeli attacks in Gaza.
The demonstrators blocked a campus intersection.
The protest followed one at Columbia University in New York City on Tuesday.
Free-Palestine student protests erupted on US campuses on April 17, when police arrested students at Columbia University during demonstrations.
Israel has killed more than 40,800 Palestinians, mostly women and children, since Oct. 7 last year, according to local health authorities.
An ongoing blockade of the enclave has led to severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine.
Israel also faces accusations of genocide for its actions in Gaza at the International Court of Justice.
