Iraqi forces kill 16 ISIS members in Anbar desert
BAGHDAD (AA) – The Iraqi military, with the support of US-led coalition forces, has killed 16 ISIS fighters, including high-ranking figures, during the military operation that began last week in the western Anbar desert, officials say.
According to a statement issued by the Joint Operations Command on X, Iraqi National Intelligence Organization forces, with the support of the Air Force, continued their operation against the ISIS stronghold in the Anbar desert, which shares borders with Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
It stated that two more bodies of ISIS fighters, as well as weapons and equipment, were discovered, bringing the total number of ISIS fighters killed since the operation began on August 29 with the support of coalition forces led by the US to 16.
Three pickup trucks belonging to ISIS were also destroyed in various locations, it added.
