US seizes Maduro’s plane, flies it to Florida
The United States has seized Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s plane in the Dominican Republic and flown it to Florida, a move condemned by the South American leader but which Washington said was necessary due to sanction violations.
“Today we seized a Venezuelan-owned aircraft predominantly utilized by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in violation of US sanctions and other criminal matters that we’re looking at with this aircraft,” said Anthony Salisbury, special agent in charge for the Homeland Security Investigations Miami office.
“Today’s success is just another example of how we continue to look at the corrupt practices of the Maduro regime.”
