US targets Israeli settlers with new sanctions amid West Bank violence
The US has announced new sanctions against Israeli settlers amid Israel’s latest violence in the West Bank.
The State Department has imposed penalties on the NGO Hashomer Yosh and several individuals, including Yinon Levi and Neriya Ben Pazi, for their roles in supporting extremist violence against Palestinians.
Yitzhak Levi Filant, a security coordinator in the Yitzhar settlement, has been sanctioned for leading violent attacks and setting up roadblocks against Palestinians.
State Department spokesman Matthew Miller condemned the violence, highlighting its impact on human suffering, Israeli security, and peace prospects.
This announcement follows a deadly Israeli attack in the northern West Bank, which has killed nine Palestinians.
