Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to address nation amid reports he will endorse Trump
WASHINGTON (AA) – Independent US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will deliver an address to the nation on Friday in Arizona, his campaign announced amid reports that he will be endorsing former President Donald Trump for the White House race.
Kennedy will “address the nation live on Friday about the present historical moment and his path forward,” his press secretary, Stefanie Spear, announced Wednesday in a post on X, without sharing further details of what he will be speaking about.
ABC news reported, citing sources familiar with the matter, that Kennedy is planning to announce his withdrawal from the presidential race and intends to endorse Trump, who is the Republican party’s candidate.
But when he was asked by ABC News if he will be endorsing the former president, he responded: “I will not confirm or deny that,” adding “we are not discussing any of that.”
The reports came after Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, said Tuesday that she “fully supports” a role for Kennedy in a future Trump administration.
Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Glendale, Arizona on Friday, just 20 minutes from Phoenix.
