Volunteer Palestinian teachers step up to offer essential education to displaced children
Volunteer Palestinian teachers are providing education to displaced children in Gaza to fill the educational void caused by the Israeli blockade.
The initiative began in the Jabalia refugee camp when a group of volunteers agreed to teach children the basic skills.
Despite challenging circumstances and limited resources, both students and teachers demonstrate unwavering dedication to the mission.
Zeyad al-Das, the director of the initiative, said they are trying to rebuild the education system teaching core subjects, despite the unsuitable environment.
The classes also aim to inspire a sense of unity and improve psychological well-being.
A teacher who brings his children along for the classes said “even the child’s composure and mental peace improved by attending.”
