Palestinian brothers create prosthetic limbs from water pipes
Two Palestinian brothers are making prosthetic limbs using plastic water pipes for amputees in Gaza due to the critical shortage of medical resources in Palestine.
Salah and Abdullah Salmi initiated a project named “Mu’taz and Salah”.
It aims to provide prosthetic limbs using water pipes and woods.
Abdullah Salmi worked at a prosthetics center before Israel’s war on Gaza began last October.
He started the project to support those in need.
Palestinian amputee Mohammed Al-Takrouri who is war-injured expressed gratitude to people helping the initiative.
He said he had no opportunity to get a prosthetic limb and resume his job due to Israel’s blockade of food, medical supplies, and humanitarian aid, as well as his inability to leave Gaza for medical treatment.
