World criminal court prosecutor seeks cooperation to probe atrocities in Sudan
International Criminal Court prosecutor Karim Khan has called for cooperation in investigating grave international crimes in Darfur, Sudan.
Khan urges victim groups, civil society, and international partners to provide evidence of ongoing atrocities, including in Al Fasher.
Khan emphasizes the urgent need for action, citing ongoing investigations and the deployment of investigative teams to the region.
He highlighted systematic attacks on civilians, including ethnically motivated violence against the Masalit community.
Khan is asking for assistance to accelerate ICC efforts, warning of a worsening crisis.
The civil war between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has led to more than 16,000 deaths since April 2023.
