Muhammad Ali shorts up for grabs at Sotheby’s in New York
Muhammad Ali’s iconic Everlast shorts from the historic 1975 “Thrilla in Manila” boxing match are on auction at Sotheby’s in New York.
Bids have reached $3.8 million.
Sotheby’s estimates the shorts, which were signed by Ali, may fetch $4 million-$6 million by the auction’s close on April 12.
Despite growing interest, the minimum price for Ali’s shorts has not been met.
Also for sale are NBA jerseys and items from star Victor Wembanyama’s locker, catering to a wide range of collectors.
