Covid vaccines drastically reduce post-infection risks
A recent study in the British Medical Journal reveals that COVID-19 vaccines significantly decrease the likelihood of heart failure and blood clots following an infection with the virus.
Previous research had highlighted the elevated risk of cardiac and thromboembolic complications post-infection.
However, this latest study shows a significant reduction in these risks with vaccination.
It analyzed data from over 10 million vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals across Europe, and included recipients of the Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
Researchers found that vaccination lowered the risk of heart failure by up to 55% and blood clots by up to 78% after infection.
Medical experts say complications from the COVID-19 vaccine pale in comparison to those associated with the virus itself, stressing the importance of vaccination.
