Muslim civil rights group brings anti-bullying guide for Muslim students
Guide does not just outline the problems but provides practical advice and also offers guidance to concerned parents
WASHINGTON – The Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, unveiled a comprehensive anti-bullying guide specifically designed for Muslim students and their families.
This comes after a study by CAIR-CA in 2021 revealed that over half of the students felt unsafe or unwelcome at school due to their Muslim identity.
The guide does not just outline the problems but provides practical advice and also offers guidance to concerned parents.
This is part of CAIR’s ongoing efforts to promote understanding of Islamic religious practices in schools.”
Throughout the month of October, CAIR will be amplifying their message, holding discussions about the guide, and featuring experts on their social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook.
According to the CAIR, they are committed to ensuring that all students have a safe and supportive school environment.
“In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month this October, CAIR is releasing the following guide to support Muslim youth in navigating and responding to instances of bullying that they may experience as well as to advise families as to what they can do to help,” the CAIR said in a statement.
The guide follows recent work conducted by CAIR to share information on Islamic religious practices with educators to continue advancing the goal of supporting Muslim youth in schools.
