Halal Market in Tatarstan attracts many Muslim shoppers
KAZAN, TATARSTAN – AUGUST 1: The Halal Market in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, is drawing a large number of Muslim shoppers.
The market, which opened its doors in 2011, offers an array of halal products and services, serving as a prominent platform to promote the halal industry in Russia.
Inside the market, various scenes show people actively shopping for halal goods. Alper Turkeli, a Turkish vendor working alongside his wife said, “We came here [in Kazan, Tatarstan] in 2011. We sell halal meats… This market was opened in 2011…” Notably, the Halal Market’s appeal is not limited to Muslims alone, as it also attracts Christian customers seeking halal-certified products.
