Police searching for driver who rammed SUV into migrant workers in Lincolnton
WASHINGTON (AA) – North Carolina police are searching for the driver of an SUV that rammed into a group of migrant workers outside a Walmart store in Lincolnton.
According to Lincolnton police, the attack appears to be premeditated. The driver, whose motives are still unknown, was described as “an older white male.”
“All six were transported to Atrium Health – Lincoln with various injuries. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening,” police said in a statement.
The vehicle is an older black mid-size SUV model with a luggage rack.
The incident is the second to target migrant workers in recent months. Eight people were killed and 10 others were injured in a similar attack in Texas in May.
