Israel Aerospace signs deal with Moroccan university to establish AI center
RABAT, Morocco (AA): Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) signed a memorandum of understanding with the International University of Rabat in the field of artificial intelligence and aeronautics research, according to the Israeli liaison office on Wednesday.
The deal aims to establish a center of excellence in artificial intelligence and aeronautics at the university in Rabat, the office said in a statement.
“A new step strengthens the Moroccan-Israeli partnership,” it added.
According to the statement, the agreement followed a partnership agreement signed last November between the two sides with a view to promoting cooperation in the field of applied research, innovation and knowledge transfer in the aviation domain.
There was no immediate comment from the Moroccan authorities or the University of Rabat on the Israeli statements.
Israel and Morocco resumed their diplomatic relations in December 2020 which were suspended in 2000 following the outbreak of the second Palestinian Intifada.
Morocco became the fourth Arab country to normalize ties with Israel in 2020 after the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan.
