Rockets fired from Gaza after death of Palestinian hunger striker in Israeli prison
JERUSALEM (AA) – Three rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel after Palestinian hunger striker Khader Adnan died in an Israeli prison, the Israeli military said on Tuesday.
“3 rockets were launched from Gaza toward Israeli territory. No interceptors were launched in accordance with policy,” a military statement said.
The rockets fell in open areas and sirens sounded in southern localities of Israel, it added.
Adnan, 44, had been on hunger strike for 87 days and his lawyer’s request that he be released on bail had been rejected by the Israeli military court.
