Soldier shot by PKK in northern Syria died, says Turkish defence ministry
ANKARA (AA) – A soldier died of wounds he sustained in an attack by Kurdish militants in northern Syria near the border, said the Turkish defence ministry.
Selcuk Kurt was injured after PKK assailants opened fire on the Operation Euphrates Shield area.
The soldier succumbed to his injuries at hospital.
The Turkish Ministry of Defence issued a statement conveying its condolences to Kurt’s family, the Turkish Armed Forces and the nation.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also extended his condolences to the family of the fallen soldier.
