Esmael Malude Ramos Nangy, 50, who was wanted for kidnapping cases in Mozambique was arrested by a multidisciplinary security team, including Interpol, over the weekend in an upmarket estate in Centurion near the capital Pretoria, a police statement said.
“The team was acting on a warrant of arrest and an extradition request by the Government of Mozambique,” the statement said.
It said that the suspect was found in possession of a 9mm licensed firearm, 14 9mm cartridges, 5 cellphones, multiple bank cards for South African banks as well as multiple South African and Mozambican phone sim cards.
