FETTERMAN DEFEATS DR. MEHMET OZ, FLIPPING A REPUBLICAN SENATE SEAT
John Fetterman narrowly defeated Dr. Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
His election flips a crucial Republican-held Senate seat as Democrats try to maintain control of the upper chamber.
Speaking to supporters after the race was called early Wednesday, the Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. said his dedicated campaign strategy of reaching every Pennsylvania county was key to his victory.
Trump-supported Oz lost his bid to become Senator of Pennsylvania.
With 93% of votes counted, Fetterman leads by over 150,000 votes. If elected, Oz would have been the first Muslim Senator in American history.
But metro areas of Pennsylvania, which has more than 114 mosques, did not seem to be impressed with Oz being a Muslim.
