Minnesota Muslims Plan ‘Super Eid’ Early July At U.S. Bank Stadium
Thousands of Minnesota Muslims are expected to celebrate Eid Al-Adha at U.S. Bank Stadium next month.
It’s the first time the celebration will be held since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
A group of 40 mosques and organizations are hosting the event on July 9 or 10, based on the lunar calendar.
The date should be confirmed by July 1, and attendees must register for the free event.
Over 30,000 attended the celebration in 2018..
Imam Asad Zaman, executive director of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, said more people are expected this year.
Eid Al-Adha is the second Muslim holiday of the year.
It caps the Hajj pilgrimage and commemorates the prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son at God’s command.
