Turkiye kills 16 PKK fighters in northern Iraq, 7 in northern Syria
ANKARA (AA) – Turkish security forces killed 16 PKK fighters in northern Iraq and seven in northern Syria, the country’s National Defense Ministry said Friday.
The men in Iraq were killed in a raid under the Operation Claw-Lock and those in Syria were killed after they opened “harassment fire” in the areas of the Euphrates Shield, Olive Branch, and Peace Spring operations,” the ministry said on Twitter.
Since 2016, Turkiye has launched a trio of operations across its border in northern Syria: Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019).
