World Muslim Leaders To Meet About Al-Aqsa Mosque Attacks
On Thursday, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation or OIC said it will hold a special meeting on April 25 to “discuss the escalating Israeli violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
The largest international body after the UN, which is made up of 57 Muslim-majority member states, the OIC said the meeting is being convened at the request of Indonesia.
It will be held at the level of permanent representatives.
Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha consulted with several international actors to express OIC’s condemnation of the Israeli occupation’s actions at Al-Aqsa.
Taha urged the international community “to take urgent action to put an end to the Israeli violations against the holy sites.”
Tensions have been mounting across Palestinian territories since the beginning of April, amid repeated Israeli raids in the occupied West Bank.
