Israeli police target journalists at Al-Aqsa
JERUSALEM (AA) – Israeli security officers on Friday morning attacked journalists covering clashes at Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem.
The officers were caught on Anadolu Agency Video News (AAVN) camera rushing at cameramen outside the mosque who were filming some officers carrying a seriously injured man.
The AAVN cameraman running away from the police shouted “Don’t touch me! I am a journalist.”
According to Palestine’s WAFA News Agency, scores of worshipers staying for worship inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque were injured on Friday morning in the fresh Israeli raid on the holy site.
“The Israeli Police have used brutal force against Muslim worshipers in an attempt to empty the holy site to make way for Israeli radicals to celebrate Passover there,” said WAFA.
At least one wounded worshiper was arrested by the attacking Israeli forces. Worshippers including women were forced to go inside the buildings of the compound and to stay there until the end of the Israeli attack a few hours later, added WAFA.
