Turkiye’s Operation Claw-Lock has killed 26 PKK men
ANKARA – According to the Turkish National Defence Ministry, Turkish security forces have “neutralized” a total of 26 PKK militants since the launch of Operation Claw-Lock in northern Iraq.
The operation successfully continues as planned, the ministry said in a statement.
According to the ministry, the new operation was launched after reports that the PKK group was planning to initiate a large-scale attack, and that the operation is in line with the UN Charter’s principle of self-defense.
PKK militants have often used northern Iraq as a base to carry out cross-border attacks in Turkiye.
In 2020, Turkiye launched operations Claw-Tiger and Claw-Eagle in the border regions of northern Iraq against the PKK’s attacks in Turkiye’s border region.
