Iran Questions US Will To Reach Nuclear Talks Deal
On Monday, Iran’s government questioned Washington’s resolve to reach an agreement restoring the 2015 nuclear deal.
Former President Donald Trump canceled the deal in 2018 and re-imposed all US sanctions on Iran.
Key sticking points remain unresolved after talks halted last month.
Iran has been negotiating for a year with France, Germany, Britain, Russia and China, and indirectly with the United States to revive the deal.
Negotiations in the Austrian capital Vienna aim to return the U.S. to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
That deal includes lifting sanctions on Iran and ensuring Tehran’s full compliance with its commitments.
Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said the U.S. “hasn’t shown the necessary will to reach an agreement.”
