80% of homes in Jenin damaged in Israeli raid: Official
JENIN, Palestine (AA): Around 80% of homes in the Palestinian city of Jenin suffered damages from a recent Israeli military attack, according to the city’s deputy governor, Kamal Abu al-Rub.
At least 12 Palestinians were killed and more than 100 others injured in the offensive that began on Monday and ended on Wednesday, according to the Health Ministry. The victims include five children.
The Israeli raid has left a trail of destruction across the West Bank city.
“Houses and infrastructure suffered heavy damage in the offensive,” Abu al-Rub told the media. “Almost 80% of houses in the Jenin refugee camp were either destroyed, damaged or burnt.”
Abu al-Rub said dozens of vehicles and utility lines were also damaged in the Israeli raid.
The Israeli offensive has triggered a wave of condemnations from several countries including Türkiye, Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, and Indonesia.
