498 Soldiers Killed: Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW (AA) – Russia has said that 498 of its soldiers have been killed and 1,597 others wounded since its forces entered Ukraine. In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that more than 2,870 Ukrainian soldiers and “nationalists” have also been killed.
Russia’s war on Ukraine, which began on February 24, has met international outrage. The EU, US and UK have also implemented tough financial sanctions on Moscow.
At least 142 Ukrainian civilians including 13 children have been killed and 408 others including 26 children injured in Ukraine, according to UN figures.
According to the UN Refugee Agency, more than 874,000 people have fled Ukraine to neighboring countries.
