3 killed and 6 injured in suspected drone attack in Abu Dhabi
A possible drone attack at Abu Dhabi International Airport that caused an explosion and a fire on Monday killed three people and wounded six.
Abu Dhabi police identified the dead as two Indian nationals and one Pakistani.
They also said an investigation was underway.
Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Iranian-backed Houthis have claimed several attacks in the country, which Emirati officials later denied took place.
In related news, the attack comes as an Emirati-flagged vessel found itself recently captured by Houthi rebels, along with its 11-member crew.
The rebels have rejected a U.N. request to immediately release the crew last Friday.
The UAE has described the Rwabee as a “civilian cargo vessel” leased by a Saudi company.
The Houthis say they captured the ship because it was carrying “military assets.”
