28 million ballots already cast in US elections
More than 28 million voters have cast ballots in early voting for the 60th presidential elections in the U.S.
According to data compiled by NBC News, 28.6 million people had voted in states with early voting as of October 24 as the countdown continues to the November 5 elections.
About 43% of those who have voted are registered Democrats, while 39% are registered Republicans.
Record numbers have been reported in battleground states such as North Carolina and Georgia.
In Georgia, more than 25% of active voters have already participated, while in North Carolina, over 2 million mail-in and in-person votes were cast as of October 24.
Nevada, another key battleground state, reported that nearly 400,000 voters had cast ballots by Thursday, with registered Republicans making up 40% of those votes.
