2 Palestinians injured by Israeli fire in Hebron
RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Two Palestinians were wounded by Israeli fire when army forces dispersed a protest in the West Bank city of Hebron on Wednesday, according to local medics.
The violence erupted when Israeli forces intervened to disperse a Palestinian protest against an Israeli raid in Jenin city on Tuesday in which six Palestinians were killed, eyewitnesses said.
Medics said two people were injured and dozens suffered temporary asphyxiation from tear gas fired by Israeli forces.
Israeli forces carried out a military raid in Jenin on Tuesday during which six Palestinians were killed and at least 26 others injured.
The Israeli army frequently carries out wide-ranging arrest campaigns across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians.
Nearly 75 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the start of this year, according to Palestinian figures. Fourteen Israelis have also been killed in the same period.
