2 Hezbollah members killed on Lebanon’s border with Israel
BEIRUT (AA) – Two members of Lebanon’s Hezbollah group have been killed in clashes with the Israeli army along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
In separate statements, Hezbollah identified the fighters as Ali Jamal al-Din Jawad and Ali Ghaleb Shuqair, which they said were killed “on the road to Jerusalem,” in reference to Hezbollah’s fight in support of the Palestinian resistance facing Israel’s devastating onslaught in Gaza.
The Israeli army in a statement on its X account claimed that Ali Jamal al-Din Jawad was a commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan unit.
The latest fatalities brought the number of Hezbollah fighters killed in clashes with Israeli forces since October 8, 2023 to 394.
Fears have grown of a full-blown war between Israel and Hezbollah. The escalation comes against the backdrop of the ongoing genocidal Israeli onslaught on Gaza which has killed more than 39,600 people since last October.
